Dates are set: 2009 Pine Tree Festival and Southeast Timber Expo are set for April 25, 2009 through May 9, 2009.

This year's 2008 Pine Tree Festival was a tremendous success. Over 7,000 people attended the four-day activities. Beginning April 26th, the festival introduced a new "Southeast Timber Expo" venue. Located at the Swainsboro/Emanuel County Recreation Department, the Expo activities included forest management equipment displays, antique cars, forestry and wildlife educational exhibits, arts and crafts, and living history demonstrations. For the first time ever, the Southeast Timber EXPO featured the Fred Scheer Lumberjack Show from Wisconsin. The shows were highly entertaining making this year's event "the best ever."
In downtown Swainsboro, activities included the 62nd annual parade which lasted over one hour. Also featured in the downtown area was WXRS Battle of the Bands, grill-off, aerobatic plane, children's rides, and Art stroll.
